Prediction of Flexural Strength of RC Circular Columns Considering Lateral Confinement Effects of FRCM and Transverse Steel Reinforcement

There has recently been growing interest in making a sustainable and durable fiber reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) to improve the seismic performance of RC column members. However, most studies evaluating lateral confinement effect on FRCM jacketing concrete have excluded transverse steel reinforcement focused solely mechanical properties. This paper, based existing studies, proposes peak axial stress formula that considers effects composite reinforcement. Additionally, study assesses structural composites with flexural strengthening actual size circular columns predicts maximum strength by applying proposed formula. The formula, considering influence reinforcement, was compared experimental value (databases) predicted value, suitability confirmed standard deviation 27.6% coefficient variation 0.856. In addition, this ranged from 0.97 1.02, which effectively values.
